Ramesh focuses on investments in both IT, and Energy Innovation. At VantagePoint, Ramesh has sourced, done due diligence on, and participated in numerous deals spanning a variety of stages and sectors. He has worked with many portfolio companies including Evolv-on-Demand (acquired by Cornerstone OnDemand), Identified (acquired by Workday), ReachLocal (RLOC), Alertme (acquired by British Gas), Pica8, Innovari, Next Step Living, Ogin, Vionx Energy, and Betable. Ramesh also helped formulate VantagePoint’s worldwide strategic partnership program with companies such as Siemens, Schlumberger, GE, Lockheed Martin, E-ON, Samsung, IKEA, and British Gas.

Prior to VantagePoint, Ramesh served as a management consultant in Accenture’s corporate strategy practice where he helped Fortune 100 companies develop software strategies to quantify, and mitigate all aspects of financial and operational risk. Ramesh previously held several leadership roles at Texas Instruments where he helped bring many products spanning Digital and Analog technologies to market worldwide. Earlier in his career Ramesh was a design engineer at Honda Motors in India, and served intern roles at the Los Alamos National Labs and Motorola.

Ramesh holds 7 patents, and has published numerous widely-cited journal articles on the applications of large data sets/software to the Finance, Technology, and Natural Resources sectors. He holds a B.S and M.S in Materials and Geoscience along with a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue (where he won the Intel fellowship for pioneering innovation in Computational Nanotechnology), and an MBA in analytic finance from the University of Chicago. Ramesh’s Masters and PhD theses have resulted in commercially licensed software products to visualize and optimize mining operations, and for nanoelectronics design, respectively.
